Origin Intermediate Oboe Reeds (formerly Magic Reed) are handmade from scratch and are a personal favorite. Made with my coveted 2017 Marion or 2019 Alliaud Oboe Cane in medium to medium hard strengths and higher densities. This combination helps deliver a more robust playing experience than my other intermediate reed options, and allows for a more nuanced scrape. Sorts for moderate aperture size optimizes playability for the intermediate player. Recommended for students with a private teacher and at least 2 years experience. Players with developing production systems will be capable of sounding their best on this reed.
