They have a rich dark tone and are highly playable. Melody Reeds are made with my choice of cane that is capable of meeting or exceeding my standards for the grade for which it is assigned. American long scrape. Customized scrape/finish. Moderately defined tip. Hearts thickness: @.50. Moderate windows, defined heart/back. Moderate spine. Tested and sorted to meet or exceed intermediate specifications.
Finishing Touches:
- Dozens of micro adjustments prior to certification and ship.
- Tested on my choice of Loree or Howarth XL Oboe.
- Reed prep instructions are included. If you are buying for someone else, make sure these instructions get to the player.
- Light application of Vaseline to moisturize cork. Covid sanitized (repeat at home).
