Tube Cane Inventory
Core long-term tube cane inventory includes Alliaud, Marion, Vic, Rouche & Feng. Pre-tested and purchased for quality, strength and density attributes. Each reed brand has it's own cane source (noted in description). This and other factors impacts function. They are presented above in order of expected resistence (relatively higher to lower).
Gouging-Shaping-Staples
Tube cane processed in-shop. Heavy editing for conformation and cracks throughout process. Kunibert gouger- @.60/.45. Reeds 'n Stuff Shaper Machine. My choice of 4 medium sized shaper forms including Brannen X, Mack ++, Mack Pfeiffer and Lucarelli (results dependent). I use Chiarugi professional staples (brass with natural cork) for all reeds, including student models.
Dimensions-Scrape-Finish
Tie length- 72.5-73mm. Finished reed length- 69-70 mm. Scrape- Signature American long scrape. Defined tip. No cliff. Heart thickness- .40-.43 mm. Balance- tone, pitch and response. Multiple finishing cycles. Extra quality sorts to ensure the right reed goes to the right buyer, and they meet or exceed grade level quality standards. Guaranteed for leaks and cracks.
