• First Chair Student Oboe Reeds are handmade from scratch and 100% hand scraped. They feature a slimline construction designed to help developing students play their best with somewhat less effort. The have a beautiful tone, are extra responsive and are well balanced for pitch and stability.
• My first draw comes from my Frejus Oboe Cane inventory with distinctive tonal attributes and an exceptional capacity for the specific results I seek for this brand. Cane substitutions are possible at reed maker discretion.
• All reeds are made with an American long scrape. 
• I combine my best medium strength cane with a specialized professional staple to moderate aperture and create a balanced reed with a supple response.
  
• Every reed receives dozens of micro adjustments and quality tests prior to shipment. My goal is always to meet/exceed my strict quality standards.

• Designed for players with 5+ months experience seeking a reed that accessible and sounds great.

Finishing Touches:

• No two reeds are ever exactly the same, and in multiple reed orders one will always be best.  
• Tested in two rooms with and without carpet on a Loree 125 oboe.  When I test reeds, I try to replicate the embouchure of the player I expect to purchase it, not my own.  If it is not a fit, I start over.
• Reed prep instructions are included.
• Light application of Vaseline to moisturize cork. 
• Covid sanitized. 
• Reeds are guaranteed against cracks and leaks or other defects with a refund or replace remedy.  They are otherwise not returnable.
