Best Oboe Reeds For Intermediates

Magic Reed offers one of the best intermediate oboe reeds on the market today. They are high end intermediate reeds, featuring superior warmth, tone and response, and are designed for players with at least 12-18 months experience. I use some of my best materials, including medium strength oboe cane drawn from private inventories (the same as our pro models) with a Chiarugi style or original staple. Expert craftsmanship and nuanced scraping is applied to the blank to achieve a beautiful tone with the just right response for a more free blowing experience. All of this is done while managing pitch, a component of a well functioning reed that is all too often left out of the equation on the marketplace. This is not a whimpy, tissue thin reed and will last longer than most. They are beefy (but not too beefy) and gives the player something to blow against so proper embouchure can be learned. They are more nuanced reeds than my student or budget alternatives, and feature extra warmth and response. They are longer lasting than most reeds on the market that make it an especially good value. Finished on a Loree 125 or Howarth XL oboe. Reed preparation instructions included. Please sanitize your reed upon arrival.
